College Counseling

Main Mission

To help students and their parents plan a trajectory

to both a desired and appropriate college path.

How we do that:

  • We aid with standardized testing in terms of both optimum scheduling and test preparation.
  • We advise on high school class choices, rigor, APs, IBs or otherwise.
  • Together with students and their parents, we craft an appropriate college list keeping in mind academic, financial and social needs.
  • We offer inspiration and guidance for the Personal Statement and miscellaneous other essays required for the Common App, UC and other applications.
  • We help students stay on track with requesting Teacher Recommendations and high school transcripts.
  • If requested, we can help in applying for financial aid (via Fafsa and CSS Profile),merit aid and other institutional scholarships.
  • With you we can sort through and make sense of college financial aid award offers.
  • If needed, we can help both students and parents in the final college decision, and onto the enrollment deposit.
  • We can advise on wait-list situations, admissions appeals and financial aid award appeals in Spring and Summer after Senior year.

Essentially, we can meld all these elements into a thoughtfully planned, timely but stress-free application period.
